Wilda

I found Wilda in a shed outside Melbourne where she had been under construction for some time, she was covered in dust and bird shit…..

Wilda is still in the same shed, but is now getting all the love and attention she deserves.

Wilda will, above all, be a sailing vessel. A nimble craft designed by Schionning out of Australia. She is designed for long distance blue water cruising with good payload allowing for all sorts of toys and dive gear. Her slender hulls and her strong and light-weight composite construction will get her anywhere we can dream of, and get there quickly.

The journey so far

  • Found the boat on Yachthub

  • Survey done December 2019

  • Purchased the boat, now known as Wilda on Dec 16, 2019

  • Started with building Wilda late Jan 2020 and have now spent quite some time working on her.

  • COVID put a halt to progress for a couple of years. Rox and I both had to leave Australia and it was not possible for us to return until late 2022.

  • Rox and I are now back and working full time on Wilda. We plan on launching Q2 2023. To get this done, we have a lot of work ahead of us.

  • We are posting videos onYouTube every week, follow us there. The channel is called Building wilda.
